The Gunnison Valley OHV Alliance of Trailrider's mission is to protect your right to ride in the Gunnison-Crested Butte Valley. First and foremost, we protect your right to ride through many active campaigns and by representing your interests with the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.

WHAT WE'VE ACHIEVED

Support and financial contribution for the deadman's trail bridge
Attended countless public lands iniative meetings to make sure OHV voice is heard.
Work hand in hand with local organizations like CBMBA and the BLM to keep trails open.
Install and assist with reroute of Carbon Trail.
Entered a partnership with the BLM to manage and improve the Hartman Rocks terrain park.
Created a place for OHV enthusiasts to band together to keep things open.

Projects

HARTMAN ROCKS TERRAIN PARK

We have been working all year with the local Bureau of Land Management to come to an agreement allowing us to manage the Hartman Rocks terrain park. We will be using volunteers and GOATs donations to rework the existing dirt in the facility, widen the track and add some features. We hope to apply and obtain grant money from the CO state OHV funds to continue to maintain and improve the facility.

GRANT SUPPORT

The GOATs have also been supporting existing trail repair and improvement with the USFS on such local favorites as Block & Tackle, Carbon, Italian Connector and Waterfall Trails.

SIGNAL PEAK TRAILS

The Gunnison BLM has been looking at expanding some trail systems around the signal peak area. The GOATs submitted letters on behalf of the organization expressing our need for more motorized use trails in this area.

TRAIL CLEARING

2017 was one of the busiest seasons in history just trying to get trails open. The massive snowfall has created a lot of down trees. The chainsaws were in full use in 2017's season!
